Human beings are changing the climate

Research findings prove that the climate is changing. Global warming, melting polar ice caps and glaciers, rising sea levels and extreme weather events are the unmistakable consequences.

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, co-founded by the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), believes that man is largely responsible for climate change. The global effects of climate change require countermeasures at the regional, national and international level. International agreements such as the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change and the Kyoto Protocol are important political framework agreements for the future of our planet.

We are all called upon to help counteract the negative aspects of climate change. Industry must also make a contribution to protecting the climate. Bayer is a trailblazer in the fight against climate change. The company has concentrated its commitment to climate protection in a group-wide Climate Program, which is mandatory for all subgroups.

Bayer HealthCare Pharmaceuticals makes an important contribution to maintaining and restoring human health with its innovative drugs and its research into new therapeutic approaches. Bayer HealthCare and Bayer CropScience support the World Health Organization with drugs and pesticides, as well as by providing financial aid for setting up national health programs.
