Our partners

Bayer HealthCare Pharmaceuticals cooperates with various partners worldwide to provide hormonal contraceptives for family-planning programs in developing countries, for example in public-private partnerships.

In what was a significant recognition of the company's many years of engagement in family planning, in December 2007 Bayer HealthCare Pharmaceuticals was the first industrial partner to become a member of the Reproductive Health Supplies Coalition (RHSC). Our partners include the United Nations Population Fund, Germany's Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, and a number of development agencies such as Population Services International, Marie Stopes International, Population Council, IMRES and Missionpharma. In the context of this collaboration, we distribute various contraceptives at cost price or greatly reduced prices.

Eight million women a year in developing countries have been given access to hormonal contraception and health education since 2008 via one partnership alone – with the organization John Snow Inc., which runs family-planning programs for the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in Africa, the Middle East, Asia, Europe, and Latin America.
